The Project

Our barn conversion project started in January 2000. The barns were formally the outbuildings to Dinbren Hall, used as stables and animal shelter when the hall was still in its estate form.

The first phase of the project was to develop the one storey shelter into a luxury family dwelling for ourselves.

The beginning of phase 1 of the project. Tin roof removed and major structural support carried out. Final completion, house is now ready to move into. What a difference now the mud's gone!

The second phase of the project started in the winter of 2002. It was to reinstate the two story former barn into 2 high quality country cottage and 4 top of the range stables.

The slates go on and sky lights go in. We discovered a well under the stable floor, which has been reinstated into a dining room table. The well as it is now.

Cottage no1 gable end, The roof goes on in 2 weeks. The stone work is pointed and lintels replaced. All that’s left now is the major clean up operation. Phase 2 of the project is completed.
